Tattoo artists wanted in Montreal
Cryptid Studio (also known as Studio Cryptide) would like to meet independent, experienced tattoo artists who want to grow their practice in a professional, warm and welcoming studio, located at 2030 Pie-IX Boulevard, in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Montreal.
We welcome artists who want to work at the studio regularly as well as those looking for a station a few days a month. Our flexible schedule lets you tattoo in the morning, afternoon or evening, seven days a week, based on your availability and your clients’.
Our approach
Two priorities guide all our decisions: offering an exceptional experience to every client and maintaining impeccable hygiene practices.
The client experience comes first
We want every person to leave the studio happy with their experience, from the first message to the follow-up after the appointment. This includes:
- clear, respectful and consistent communication;
- an honest and transparent approach;
- realistic expectations about the project and the result;
- only accepting projects that are feasible and truly within the artist’s skills;
- respect for each person’s consent, limits and comfort;
- professional management of appointments and client follow-up.
Cryptid Studio artists are responsible for managing their own clientele and maintaining professional communication with them.
Rigorous hygiene and evolving practices
Safety and hygiene are never taken for granted. We’re looking for artists who follow rigorous protocols and remain open to improving their practices when new information, standards or recommendations become available. Every artist actively helps maintain a clean, safe and professional environment, in line with our studio policies.
The artists we’re looking for
We’re open to all tattoo styles. We particularly appreciate artists with a specialty, a recognizable approach or a signature style.
Cryptid Studio works by appointment. Clients often choose their artist based on their portfolio, visual universe and the type of project they have in mind.
We’re looking for artists who have:
- professional tattooing experience and a current, cohesive portfolio;
- an existing clientele;
- complete autonomy in managing appointments;
- reliable communication with clients and the team;
- a respectful, honest and professional practice.
We’re not necessarily looking for full-time availability. A presence of a few days a month can work, as long as commitments to clients and the studio are respected.
A flexible tattoo station in Montreal
Looking for a tattoo station or chair rental in Montreal? Cryptid Studio has five equipped stations. Depending on the type of arrangement, how often each artist is present and their appointment volume, a station can be shared on a set schedule or assigned to one artist. Arrangements are discussed individually to suit each artist’s practice and the smooth running of the studio.
You can tattoo according to your availability:
- in the morning, afternoon or evening;
- on weekdays or weekends;
- a few hours or a few days a week;
- a few days a month;
- more regularly, depending on your needs.
Our goal is to offer an environment flexible enough to welcome different practices, while keeping a professional organization and a consistent experience for clients.
What the studio provides
The station and work supplies are provided, except for:
- tattoo machines;
- needles;
- inks.
Cryptid Studio’s online booking system can also be made available to you.
Two types of arrangement
Station rental: $600 per month, plus tax
This option suits artists who want to run their practice fully independently while enjoying the studio’s facilities and environment.
Percentage split: 70% to the artist, 30% to the studio
This option may suit artists who prefer an arrangement proportional to their appointment volume.
Specific terms and mutual expectations can be discussed to determine which option best fits your practice.
Experienced artists only
We don’t accept apprentices at this time. Artists must already be independent and have the experience needed to tattoo, manage their appointments and support their clients without supervision. We’re currently not able to offer training or mentorship.
