Second-skin bandage method

  1. Always start with clean hands.
  2. Gently remove the bandage after 3 to 24 hours, under lukewarm water, slowly peeling one corner back in the opposite direction of the tattoo.
  3. Clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
  4. Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry.
  5. Apply a new bandage covering the tattoo and about 3 cm around it.
  6. Keep this bandage on for up to 6 days maximum.
  7. Remove it sooner if it comes loose or fills with fluid.
  8. Remove the bandage immediately if you have a reaction.

Absorbent bandage method

  1. Remove the bandage after 2 to 4 hours.
  2. Clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.
  3. Gently pat dry.
  4. Leave the tattoo uncovered for the rest of the healing process.

Important tips

  • Avoid contaminated water (pools, hot tubs, lakes, rivers, the sea, bathtubs) for 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Take quick showers with lukewarm or cool water.
  • After 48 hours, apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer as needed.
  • Don’t scratch or pick the scabs.
  • Sleep in clean sheets and wear loose clothing.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds during healing.
  • Don’t apply any product that hasn’t been recommended on the tattoo.
  • Once the tattoo is fully healed, applying sunscreen is recommended whenever you’re in the sun.
  • Contact your artist or a health professional if you have any doubts or notice unusual signs.
